How to wrap a bottle with furoshiki

A clean cloth wrap for wine, sake, olive oil, or any bottle-shaped gift. The cloth protects the bottle, forms a handle, and remains part of the gift.

Place the furoshiki diagonally with the inside of the cloth facing up.

Bring two opposite corners together and tie a mamusubi knot.

Cross the two open corners around the bottle and tie in the front with another mamusubi knot.

Once you have tied your knot at the front, untie the mamusubi knot at the top of the bottle.

Twist the open corners round and round in opposite directions.

Once twisted, tie the ends up to form a loop.
